Daniel Nestor is one of the most successful tennis players Canada has ever produced.

Daniel, Canada’s first-ever Wimbledon champion, created the Daniel Nestor Charity Event along with Karl Hale and Peter Henry in 2003. Karl and Daniel grew up together in North York, and decided to give back to our community by organizing this amazing annual fundraising event.

Thanks to the support of its participants, the Nestor event has raised over $1,000,000 for North York General Hospital. The proceeds from the 10th Anniversary event recently held will support the Child and Teen Program at NYGH.

North York General is a leading centre in paediatric care. For our youngest patients, a visit to the hospital can evoke feelings of fear and anxiety. That’s why the staff of North York General’s Child and Teen Program are dedicated to providing care that keeps everyone reassured, informed and involved. We perform the second-highest number of paediatric procedures of any hospital in Ontario. With the support of our donors, we continue to provide our young patients with an exceptional hospital experience and the best health outcomes.
